Tina has lost over 40 founds for good—and she’s now over 50 years old!
So what’s changed in Tina’s approach to fitness to help her be successful?
First, she realized something EVERY responsible adult needs to realize: You can’t take care of everyone else if you don’t take care of yourself.
Tina is the person who takes care of everyone else—and as she got older, it got harder and harder to get the results she wanted. She came to us having already done transformation programs—the kind where you get promised your money back if you succeed. The first time through, Tina succeeded. She lost the 20 pounds required and got her money back.
But the kind of training these programs use don’t build muscle. So when you lose those 20 pounds, you lose muscle, too, and when you sign up to give it another go, it gets harder and harder to lose those 20 required pounds. If you do this long enough, your metabolism is damaged, and before you know it, you’re actually gaining weight.
And let’s be clear:
It ain’t muscle you’re gaining. It’s fat.
Tina went through this, losing no more than 20 pounds at a time and never understanding how to lose more and maintain those losses. Like many of our clients, we’ve helped Tina rebuild her metabolism, helping her gain muscle so she could lose more than those 20 pounds in a healthy way. She trains with Chris and does nutrition with Gina, and the combination of the two has helped her reach the goals she never could in those transformation programs.
In addition to her weight loss results, Tina’s also gained strength and confidence. As a business owner, she likes feeling strong enough to do everything her business requires. As a mom, it’s fun to tell her kids what she can squat or bench press. And when she looks in the mirror, it’s empowering to see muscle where you didn’t see any before.
In this interview, Tina and Chris cover everything Tina did before, what’s changed since she came to Fit House, and how those transformation programs lead you down the wrong metabolic path.
They also touch on:
- How training changes the way you live as you age
- Why getting up early to train is worth it, even when you want to sleep in
- Why most people don’t succeed beyond that initial 20 pound weight loss
- How being a parent affects the way you think about training
- The mindset shifts you need to be successful
- And more!
Tina’s story might be familiar to you. Maybe you, too, are over 50 and ready to lose weight for good. Maybe you’ve tried those transformation programs, and you’ve never been able to see the same level of success you saw the first time you complete it. Maybe you’ve never been able to lose more than those 20 pounds, finding it harder and harder to come close to losing that amount again. Maybe you’re the caretaker for everyone else, and you realize it’s time to take care of yourself, too.
We can help. We meet our clients where they are—and we build a program to help you progress, step by step, in a way that’s healthy, positive, and builds both your body AND your confidence.
