How to Stay Motivated During Summer | Fit House Podcast | Episode 2

Your story starts now. Get started with Fit House Today!

How hard is it for you to stay motivated and consistently train in the summer?

It’s beautiful outside, you want to be out there, and it can be tough to drag yourself into the gym.

But we know folks who ditch their training in the summer to do outside activities, and the result isn’t what they expect. By Fall, they’ve lost muscle and gained weightโ€”a bad combo.

This week, Chris and Gina talk about how to stay on track all summer, why you can’t take a summer break from training, and why strength training isn’t interchangeable with other forms of exercise.

Chris and Gina share their own experiences with staying active in summer and staying consistent with their training. To see last week’s podcast episode, click here. And don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel here!

There’s a misconception that all forms of exercise are interchangeable, and many people decide that the extra walks, bike rides, and other activities they add in the summer can replace their strength training.

The problem, though, is that the only form of exercise that builds and maintains muscle is strength training. Walking doesn’t do this. Biking doesn’t do this. Hanging around at the pool and gardening do not do this. So when we decide to replace training with other things, we lose muscle, we slow our metabolism, and we change our body fat levels for the worse.

That’s a vicious cycle, and we can help you avoid it. If you want to make this summer your fittest yet, we can help you stay motivated. Just click here to get in touch with us. We can help you avoid the summer motivation trap!
