Big News ! Having a Supportive Partner and Setting Examples for Kids | Fit House Podcast | Episode 6

Chris and Gina have big news! This week, the news leads into a discussion about how having a supportive partner helps make fitness success easier, setting good examples for kids, and how important it is to understand that there are levels to training beyond level one.

Having a Supportive Partner:

It is very hard to stay on track with your health and fitness if you do not have a supportive partner at home. While you can be successful despite an unsupportive partner, it won’t be easy, and many people who don’t have partner support struggle. When the people around you are supportive and you make healthy changes in your own life, they are likely to change their lives, too.

Chris has personally seen it in his family; when he made his own health changes, he watched his parents and siblings change for the better, too. He tells the story, too, of a current client whose husband is now on board so the entire family can be healthier together. Having a supportive partner makes reaching your health and fitness goals likelier!

But other clients struggle with partners who bring unhealthy food into the house, and sometimes, this requires uncomfortable conversations. Chris and Gina talk about how to manage those situations and get the support you might need.

Chris and Gina share the big news and discuss supportive partners, setting good examples for kids, and how to set yourself and your family up with the best plan. Subscribe to the rest of the podcast here.

Setting Good Examples for Kids:

It’s obvious that a marriage or relationship built on supporting one another’s health and fitness will set a good example for the children involved.

But everything we learn comes from what we were shown as children. We learn how to eat, we learn how to be active, and if we don’t learn the right ways, we spend years undoing those behaviors and lessons in favor of the right ways. We can do better for our children by modeling the right nutrition and the right training early and throughout their lives.

There’s tons of misinformation out there, though, and the right way to do things look an awful lot like the wrong way to do things. There are no secret foods that only trainers know, and everyone has access to the tools we need to do things the right way. But the knowledge of how to use those tools to help you progress from point A to point B and then from point B to point C is knowledge that most people don’t know.

If you want to pass the best to your family, you have to start with the best plan. If you’re ready to make changes, or if you’re ready to lead your family in those changes, we can help. We help clients from all over WNY, including Buffalo, Kenmore, Tonawanda, and Amherst, achieve their health and fitness goals. Click here to get in touch and see if you’re a good fit for Fit House!
